BANGKOK, 15 August 2014  – The Metropolitan Police Bureau and relevant units have been set to regulate school buses after their regulating of passenger vans received positive feedback.

Deputy Commander of the Metropolitan Police Bureau Pol.Maj.Gen.Chanthawit Rammasut said the bureau had set plans to monitor school buses as requested by the general public in a bid to prevent danger and accidents. Officers would make sure that school bus drivers drive safely and each bus would be required to be tuned up twice a year for safety of all students and passengers, Pol.Maj.Gen.Chanthawit said.

There are currently over 2,000 school buses from 250 schools in Bangkok. The Metropolitan Police Bureau will meet with relevant units on 16 August 2014 to explain regulations of school buses.
