BANGKOK, Thailand – Large crowds continue to visit Sanam Luang in Bangkok to pay homage to the Sacred Buddha Relic, temporarily enshrined at the site. Visitors are also taking part in circumambulation rituals for blessings and good fortune, alongside daily Buddhist prayer sessions and meditation practices. These activities are held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and again at 4 p.m. each day.

Special ceremonies have been planned to celebrate the New Year. On December 31, a New Year’s Eve prayer session will be held to bid farewell to the old year and welcome the Buddhist New Year 2568. On January 1, 2025, a morning prayer session and almsgiving ceremony will take place, offering blessings and prosperity for the year ahead. The public is invited to join these events to mark the beginning of the Buddhist New Year.

The Sacred Buddha Relic can be venerated daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. until February 14, 2025. Visitors are provided with flower offerings, postcards, and drinking water, while assistance staff and wheelchair services are available to support the elderly and persons with disabilities. (NNT)
