YALA, 27 February 2015 – Japanese embassy officials led by Mr.Osamu Izawa, minister in charge of political affairs of the embassy, visited the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre (SBPAC) in Yala.
The visit was for the Japanese officials to learn about the actual situation in the southernmost province of Thailand, particularly in social development and the promotion of understanding about peace dialogues among the southern people.
Mr. Kwanchat Wongsupranan, Deputy SBPAC Secretary-General, said that the visit today was a good chance for the Japanese officials to receive facts and discuss the situation in the region with officials involved, learn about the Thai government’s development policy and observe its actual progress.
He said the discussion would lead to better understanding between the two sides which could be developed into further bilateral cooperations in the protection and rehabilitation of victims of southern violence, along with the development of their quality of life.
