BANGKOK, 25 March 2013  Four senior police officers have been transferred from their posts after police commandos cracked down on three gambling dens in Phra Khanong and Wattana districts in Bangkok,

The four senior policemen included the head of Metropolitan Police Division 5, the head of Khlong Tan police station, the head of Bang Na police station, and the head of Pho Kaew police station.

The four senior officers will be transferred to the police headquarters for 30 days to facilitate investigations.

The order came from Police Commander-in-chief Adul Sangsingkaew, who claimed that the four senior policemen allowed underground casinos to operate despite warnings from the headquarters.

The three underground casinos busted included “Mae Ho” casino in Sukhumvit 71, “Uan” casino in Bang Na, and an unnamed casino in Soi Pho Kaew. Around 260 gamblers were arrested at the “Mae Ho” casino alone, and the rest were nabbed at the other two casinos.
