Several regions across Thailand have been struggling with severe weather conditions, leading to disruptions and dramatic rescues over the past weekend. In Prachin Buri province, ten tourists were rescued at the Sao Noi waterfall in Khao Yai National Park after being trapped by a swiftly flowing stream, the result of recent heavy rainfall.

In Trat province, the situation is equally severe, with the worst flooding in thirty years isolating nine villages in Khao Saming district. The floodwaters, reaching depths of 120 to 150 centimeters, have severely disrupted transportation and the delivery of essential supplies, forcing villagers to use boats for mobility.

The adverse weather also impacted Kanchanaburi province, where persistent rain over the past week caused the Khwae Noi River to overflow. The deluge swept away approximately 70 fish cages, resulting in estimated losses of around 10 million baht. Additionally, 20 riverside houses and hotels in Sai Yok district have been inundated, leading to evacuations and numerous cancellations of hotel reservations during a long holiday weekend. (NNT)
