Six landmarks of Thailand awarded ‘Green Destinations Top 100 Stories’

Thailand remains a favorite destination for travelers from around the world, with rich cultural diversity, beautiful traditions, and incredible natural landscapes.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Green Destinations Foundation listed Thailand among the world’s top 100 sustainable destinations for 2024 by including them among the “Green Destinations Top 100 Stories.” This recognition highlights innovative initiatives and sustainable tourism projects worldwide that support environmental conservation, community empowerment, and responsible tourism.

The Top 100 Best Practice Stories showcase innovative and impactful approaches to responsible tourism. Each story highlights how destinations have addressed environmental, social, and economic challenges, while promoting sustainable travel experiences.



The six Thai destinations named below developed themselves under the guidelines of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC):
– Wiang Phu Phiang Chae Haeng, Nan;
– U Thong Ancient City, Suphan Buri;
– Songkhla City, Songkhla;
– Chiang Khan, Loei;
– Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan;
– Uthai Thani Old Town, Uthai Thani.
