SMEs start to recover

BANGKOK, 7 November 2014 – The Office of SMEs Promotion has reported that Thai SMEs showed signs of recovery during the past nine months and exported more compared to the same period last year.

From January to September 2014, Thai SMEs exported their products totalling 1.44 trillion baht, increasing from the same period last year by 8.47%. Imports were worth 1.64 trillion baht, decreasing by 9.79% compared to the same period last year.

The markets Thailand exported to the most during the nine months included ASEAN, China, Europe, Japan and the U.S. The products it exported the most included jewelry and accessories, plastic, machines, computers, electronic equipment and automobiles. Thailand imported the most from China, Japan, ASEAN, Europe and the U.S.
