Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Deputy Chairman of the National Committee on Soft Power Strategy, was joined by members of the committee and Chadchart Sittipunt, the Governor of Bangkok.

Paetongtarn said the meeting laid out the action plans for the initial 100 days, which include establishing 11 subcommittees to drive soft power initiatives before submitting proposals to the Cabinet for legal amendments and budget requests.

A Soft Power Forum and community fund registration are also planned, with registration expected to open after January 2024. Moving forward, the committee plans to meet monthly, with the next meeting scheduled for November 30th.

The Winter Festival is another agenda item initiated by Paetongtarn, aimed at making Thailand a global festival destination to attract tourists. The Winter Festival is set to begin during the Loy Krathong festival in November and is expected to generate at least 1.5 trillion baht in economic value during the fourth quarter of this year, while increasing tourist numbers by 25-30 million people.
