SONGKHLA, 13 December 2013 Security has been tightened in this southern province after reports spread that two key insurgents are plotting a violence in the area.
The provincial authorities have been ordered to monitor and track down two leaders of the RKK, an insurgent group in the restive South of Thailand, according to a report by the National News Bureau of Thailand.
Authorities in four districts, including Hat Yai have been on full alert and police have extended their investigations on the newly formed group of insurgents that have been operating recently.
More than 5,000 people have been killed in the strife-torn deep South of Thailand. The Thai government, in cooperation with neighboring Malaysia, has been engaging in a series of peace dialogues with the insurgents.
