Google, together with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), has announced that Street View imagery of three major areas in Thailand is now live on Google Maps.

The imagery allows users in Thailand and around the world to view and navigate 360-degree street-level imagery of greater Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket.

Thailand is the 35th country where Street View imagery is available.

TAT Governor Suraphon Svetasreni explained, the TAT has always embraced technology, and through partnership with Google Thailand, the organization is excited about the opportunities to showcase the Thai tourist attractions through the innovation of Google Maps with Street View.

Users can access street-level imagery by zooming into the lowest level on Google Maps, or by dragging the orange “Pegman” icon on the left-hand side of the map onto a blue highlighted street.

Locals can use the 360˚ panoramas to check out a restaurant before taking the journey, figure out driving directions, arrange meeting points, or get to know their own town better. Thai businesses can also benefit from Street View technology by embedding Google Maps directly into their site. And travelers to Thailand can use Street View to plan their vacations or virtually explore the country before arriving.
