BANGKOK, 11 August 2012 – The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) has organized a special Run/Walk event to mark HM the Queen’s 80th birthday anniversary and its 20th anniversary.
MRTA Governor Yongsit Rojsrikul said that an MRTA Run/Walk campaign will take place on Saturday, August 18th to commemorate Her Majesty the Queen’s 80th birthday anniversary on August 12th.
Mr. Yongsit stated that the event is also intended to mark MRTA’s 20th anniversary on August 21st.
The planned race is divided into a 10.5-kilometer mini-marathon and a 4-kilometer Run/Walk.
The MRTA Governor said that the winner of the race will receive a royal trophy of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, while the proceeds will go to the Fund for the Development of Children and Youth in Remote Areas, under HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s patronage.
