Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin recently met with Nicola Doninelli, the Executive Director of Corporate and Investment Banking at Intesa Sanpaolo, to discuss potential financial collaboration and the exploration of sustainable investment opportunities.

Intesa Sanpaolo, a major Italian bank, operates a vast network with over 13.6 million customers and more than 3,300 branches in Italy, plus 900 branches internationally. The discussions centered on leveraging this extensive network to benefit Thailand’s development initiatives, especially the Landbridge project, which connects the Gulf of Thailand with the Andaman Sea.



During the meeting, Srettha also made clear his enthusiasm for the bank’s readiness to support the Thai government’s issuance of sustainability-linked bonds, focusing on environmentally friendly projects. The support is anticipated to attract international funds interested in green investments, furthering Thailand’s environmental and economic objectives. (NNT)
