BANGKOK, Thailand – The Social Security Office (SSO) has conducted on-site inspections of medical facilities under the Social Security Scheme to assess service quality and improve healthcare efficiency. Led by the SSO Deputy Secretary-General Nonglak Koworakul, the visits focused on ensuring that hospitals and clinics comply with medical standards and provide insured individuals with accessible and effective treatment.
Medical teams, including doctors, nurses, and administrative officers, evaluated key aspects of healthcare services. The assessment covered treatment quality, adherence to professional standards, availability of medical personnel, and adequacy of medical equipment. The findings will be used to address challenges and implement strategies to improve service delivery across SSO-affiliated hospitals and clinics.
Nonglak affirmed SSO’s adherence to ensuring that insured individuals receive timely and efficient medical care. Efforts are underway to reduce waiting times, ensure the availability of prescribed medications, and hold medical facilities accountable for meeting their contractual obligations.
Healthcare providers that fail to meet required standards will be subject to corrective measures.
To strengthen service monitoring, the SSO encourages insured individuals to report any issues with healthcare facilities under the scheme. Complaints can be submitted through the Social Security Office’s official website or the 1506 hotline, which operates 24 hours a day.
Through continuous evaluations and collaboration with medical professionals, the SSO is working to improve healthcare services under the Social Security Scheme. Targeted improvements and stricter oversight help ensure that insured persons receive safe, high-quality, and effective medical care. (NNT)
