CHAINAT, 10 May 2013 More than 70 households in 10 villages in Sankhaburi district, Chainat were affected by a major storm that broke out in the night of the 8th of May 2013.
The Chainat governor, Mr. Chamlong Phosuk, and the chief of the provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation unit have distributed relief packages to those affected by the storm. People from the neighborhood recounted the night saying there was a heavy rain and wind storm Wednesday night, causing large trees to fall and damaging many houses and animal barns. Rooftops were blown away while radio broadcasting poles of Chainat’s 88.5 MHz radio station fell onto houses causing much damage.
