BANGKOK, Thailand – Police General Kitrat Panpetch, the National Police Chief, expressed satisfaction with the significant reduction in accidents and crimes during the New Year holiday, January 1. He thanked all police officers nationwide for their dedication and commitment in ensuring safety throughout the festive period.
Police General Kittirat commended the officers for their full efforts in maintaining order at New Year’s events, preventing crime, and managing traffic. Their hard work enabled both citizens and tourists to celebrate the New Year safely and joyfully.
The police force also implemented effective proactive measures such as setting up checkpoints, alcohol testing, and traffic management on high-traffic routes. Technologies like drones for traffic monitoring and smart CCTV cameras installed at event locations further enhanced crime prevention, contributing to a significant reduction in accidents, fatalities, and injuries compared to previous years.
Additionally, the National Police Chief thanked the public for their cooperation throughout the holiday, including adherence to traffic laws, providing tips, and avoiding risky behaviors. He emphasized that such collaboration was vital to ensuring safety for all and expressed hope that the success of this year’s New Year celebrations would serve as a positive start for a safer and happier 2025 for all Thais.
