Sukhothai Loy Krathong Festival and Pattaya Fireworks Festival win Gold Prize 2023 from IFEA Asia

Thailand’s Sukhothai Loy Krathong Festival and Pattaya International Fireworks Festival have recently been awarded the Gold Prize for “(Night Time Economy & Tourism) Cultural Historical Festival” by the International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA Asia) in the Republic of Korea. The award competition aims at recognizing outstanding accomplishments and the highest degree of excellence in festival and event promotions and operations in a way that has raised the standards and quality of the festivals and events industry to new levels.



The Sukhothai Loy Krathong festival takes place each year at Sukhothai Historical Park. The festival includes the releasing of small, decorated floats called krathong into water bodies to honor the water goddess, and there are also lanterns, cultural performances, and fireworks, which make the park a spectacular setting when it is lit up.
