BANGKOK, Thailand – Advisor to the Prime Minister Jirayu Huangsap has expressed confidence in Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra’s leadership ahead of Monday’s no-confidence debate, describing her as a dynamic and capable representative of Thailand’s new political generation. He encouraged opposition MPs to engage in a constructive and respectful debate, offering ideas that contribute to national development rather than resorting to personal attacks or divisive rhetoric.

Drawing from his years of parliamentary experience, Jirayu called for an end to outdated political confrontations and urged lawmakers to prioritize meaningful dialogue. He stressed the importance of addressing the country’s challenges through cooperation and forward-thinking solutions, especially at a time when the public is seeking progress, stability, and economic recovery after more than a decade of political stagnation.

While acknowledging that no-confidence motions have historically failed due to the government’s parliamentary majority, Jirayu affirmed that the administration is ready to listen and respond with transparency. He pointed to recent economic gains as a positive sign and cautioned against allowing political theatrics to distract from the country’s growing momentum.

He credited Prime Minister Paetongtarn for her decisive leadership, proactive engagement with communities, and ability to connect with domestic and international audiences. Her efforts to address long-standing issues and bridge generational divides, he said, have positioned her as a forward-looking leader with both empathy and vision.

Jirayu concluded by encouraging all members of Parliament to uphold the dignity of public service during the upcoming debate. He called for a more respectful and solution-driven atmosphere in Parliament—one that reflects the maturity of Thailand’s political system and the shared responsibility of all lawmakers to move the country forward.
