BANGKOK, 24 October 2013 King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital has announced that His Holiness Somdej Phra Nyanasamvara, the Supreme Patriarch, has succumbed to his illness after receiving ongoing treatment at the hospital.
The ninth announcement has been issued by the medical team of Chulalongkorn Hospital, saying the Supreme Patriarch passed away from blood infection at 19.30 hrs. on Thursday, October 24.
His Holiness experienced low blood pressure after he had undergone a surgery to cure intestinal bacterial infection on October 14. The medical staff had been monitoring his conditions 24 hours a day.
Throngs of people had traveled to Chulalongkorn Hospital to sign the well-wishing book in hopes to see His Holiness return to good health.
The Supreme Patriarch had just turned 100 years old on October 3 this year.
