BANGKOK, 14 March 2014  Prime minister’s secretary-general Suranand Vejjajiva has confirmed that the order to reinstate Tawil Pleansri as the chief of the National Security Council (NSC) will be carried out within 45 days.

Mr Suranand said more details on the reshuffle will be reviewed by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra next week before being discussed in the weekly cabinet meeting.

According to him, the current NSC chief Pol Lt Paradorn Pattanathabutr will likely be appointed advisor to the premier once Mr Tawin resumes his post.

The ruling last week overruled the Prime Minister’s Office’s order to remove then NSC chief Tawin from his position on September 30, 2011. The court said in the verdict that the government’s transferl of Mr Tawin from office was an abuse of power.
