Defense Minister Sutin Klungsang recently conducted a site visit to the 15th Infantry Battalion in Phetchaburi province to inspect and boost the morale of new military recruits. During the visit, the defense minister observed training exercises and engaged in video calls with soldiers’ relatives to convey his good wishes.

Sutin commended the recruits for their dedication to the country and outlined the advantages of their intensive physical and disciplinary training. He also pointed out that the program provides an essential rehabilitation opportunity for soldiers who had previously struggled with drug addiction.

New recruits receive a monthly stipend to support themselves and their families. Following a three-month initial training period, the group can access further educational programs suited to their abilities and interests, as well as vocational training. Upon completing their service, each individual, equipped with educational qualifications, is offered a range of job prospects facilitated by the military’s collaborations with various private companies.

Sutin continued his official duties in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, visiting the Jong Ang Suek (King Cobra) Special Unit and inspecting the Singkhon Border Checkpoint located in the Khlong Wan sub-district. (NNT)
