
LAMPANG, Thailand – A Swiss national has been sentenced after performing a dangerous motorcycle stunt on the Lampang-Chiang Mai road, showing off by riding his motorcycle on one wheel, which caused public alarm. Authorities traced the suspect to his luxury condo in Chiang Mai, where he was arrested and charged.
The incident went viral after a video of the young man performing the stunt on a red big bike was shared on the “Hea Khub Rot” Facebook page, drawing attention from the public. The video showed reckless driving along a highway in Hang Chat District, Lampang, prompting Pol. Col. Prapas Ubonseri, Chief of Hang Chat Police Station, to launch an investigation.
Investigators tracked down the suspect through his Instagram account, which featured posts and videos of a motorcycle matching the one in the video. Additionally, they found an X-ray image of a broken hand and his real name, revealing him to be Mr. Julien May, a 22-year-old Swiss citizen who has been in Thailand for nearly two years. He had been staying at a luxury condo on Kaew Nawarat road in the Wat Ket area of Chiang Mai.

Police confirmed his whereabouts at the condo and discovered a red Honda CRF450 motorcycle, matching the one in the video, parked there. Upon arrest, the suspect admitted to the offense and was brought to Hang Chat Police Station, where he was charged with reckless driving that endangered public safety and driving without regard for others’ safety.
The court sentenced him to 2 months in prison, suspended for 1 year, and imposed a fine of 3,000 baht. In addition, the court ordered the confiscation of the motorcycle.
Further violations included fines for driving without a license (100 baht), lacking compulsory insurance (500 baht), driving without a license plate (100 baht), and failing to renew his vehicle tax (100 baht).
