Tak holds 20th Thai-Myanmar biking event

Tak – The Tak Chamber of Commerce organized the 2019 Thai-Myanmar biking event on Saturday. Tak Governor Charoenrit Sa-nguansat and his Myawaddy counterpart jointly presided over the opening ceremony of the grand biking event which has been held for 20 years. Chairman of the Tak Chamber of Commerce Chawaphan Chawacharoenphan, executives of relevant organizations in Thailand and Myanmar and many thousands of bikers participated in the event.

Chawaphan said the biking event has the objective to promote tourism in Tak province, strengthen ties between Thailand and Myanmar and campaign for personal exercise. The event also sought to reduce petrol consumption and protect the environment, he said.

The cycling route passes beautiful temples and famous pagodas such as Swe Taw Myat Buddha Tooth Relic pagoda and a replica of Shwedagon pagoda.
