Bangkok – TAT Regional Director for the Northeast, Somchai Chompoonoi unveiled “Check In Isan” at the Travel Thailand Festival at Lumphini Park this week, explaining that the program is to promote tourism to the northeastern region and disperse revenue from travelers to local areas. The activity focuses on Thai travelers and is using the low price and abundance of hotels and accommodation as well as ease of travel as the main selling points.
The program was launched with a raffle that will allow travelers to use their tickets to vie for prizes. Tickets filled out with personal details can be dropped into 39 receptacles set up at the nation’s airports, train stations and bus terminals for a chance to win discounts from the TAT and its partners.
