BANGKOK, 11 August 2014  – Thawatchai Aranyik, the Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) revealed that the agency has recently launched a campaign to promote domestic tourism called “Falling in Love with Thailand”.

As part of that campaign, the TAT launched on August 9th, a trip for people who were physically challenged in some forms such as the visually-impaired, the disabled, and war veterans who have lost their limbs during battle.

Three-hundred representatives from these groups of people were taken on a tour to see the wonders of Ayutthaya, the historic capital of Siam. The trip was special in that the participants were travelling with their mothers for free in line with the campaign’s theme “Travel with Mom in August”, to celebrate the Mother’s Day on August 12.

Krissana Lalai, the campaign developer, revealed that the activity presented an opportunity for the disabled to enjoy themselves and allow them to fully embrace the rich culture of Thailand.
