The Tourism Authority of Thailand’s (TAT) Governor Yuthasak Supasorn has spoken in regard to the tourism promotion campaigns at the end of this year, saying that the TAT will be introducing two domestic tourism promotional measures, namely a 100-baht nationwide tourism campaign, and shocking-price weekday discounts.
The 100-baht campaign will offer some 40,000 tourism products and services at only 100 baht each. Registration is required and will be available on 11-12 November and 11-12 December this year, for only 10,000 persons each day, on TAT’s website starting at 00:01 a.m.
The weekday discount campaign valid on Mondays to Thursdays will run from 1st November until 3rd December this year, offering up to 70 percent discounts on tourism products. TAT will open its online store offering the same discount to help promote manufacturers. Eligible purchases made with the government’s wallet app, will also receive a 15 percent VAT rebate.
On the readiness of these measures, the TAT is now ensuring the preparedness of the system to accommodate registrations, after issues found during the Chim Shop Chai campaign, already being addressed to improve performance, flexibility, and to prevent other issues.
The TAT governor said he is confident these measures will provide an ongoing economic boost following the success of the Chim Shop Chai campaign, spiking revenue 10-20 percent, with tourist numbers reaching the 180 million persons goal.
