TAT governor expects over 7.6 billion baht in tourist cash during long weekend

BANGKOK – Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) governor Yutthasak Suphasorn expected as many as 2.16 million people to take leisure trips within Thailand during the upcoming long weekend which could probably generate a cash flow of over 7.6 billion baht.

Most travelers are likely to visit the provinces such as Chonburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Kanchanaburi, Nakorn Ratchasima, Ayutthaya, Petchburi, Saraburi, Chiang Mai and Songkhla.

As the economy is beginning to recover, he said, TAT has launched a major campaign entitled “Ruam Jai Tiew Thai” to stimulate tourism from May until September, 2016.
