TAT hosts successful Amazing Thailand MEGA FAM Trip to boost short-haul tourism

High-level trade meet connects Asian and South Pacific travel operators with Northern Thailand’s tourism businesses.

CHIANG MAI, Thailand – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) successfully organised the Amazing Thailand MEGA FAM Trip to the North Trade Meet, providing a dynamic platform for business negotiations between travel company representatives from the Asia and South Pacific markets and Thai tourism businesses in the Northern region.



The event, held on 11 December 2024 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Chiang Mai, aimed to stimulate short-haul market arrivals, targeting over 25 million tourists visiting Thailand this year.

The event was presented by Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, TAT Governor, along with Ms. Pattaraanong Na Chiangmai, Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Asia and the South Pacific, and Mr. Kittipong Prapattong, Deputy Governor for Digitalisation, Research and Development. Other TAT executives were also in attendance, further highlighting the significance of the occasion.



Adding local prestige to the event, Mr. Nirat Pongsitthaworn, the Governor of Chiang Mai, graciously hosted the welcome dinner, further showcasing the region’s readiness and charm as a top-tier destination for short-haul travellers.
