BANGKOK, 12 September 2014 – The Teachers Council of Thailand (Khurusapha) is organizing a writing contest for students to express gratitude towards their teachers.
The contest also includes a Teacher’s Day slogan, and poems to honor their teachers on the upcoming teacher’s day next year on January 16, 2015.
This contest aims to strengthen collaboration between teachers and the people, by recalling what the teachers have given and by gratefully honoring the teachers for imparting such knowledge.
The public at large can also participate by submitting their appreciation in the form of a poem, expressing the lasting impression they have of their teacher(s). Not as an essay.
The contest is divided into three categories: School Youth, University Students, Vocational School Students.
The guidelines for university students are to compose a poem on the theme, “H.M. The King, the Great Teacher”
Vocational school students, high school students and those who are younger must cover the theme “Mother of the Land, Teacher of Liberal Arts”.
Elementary school students of grades 4-6 must compose a poem on the topic of “His Majesty, the role model of Thai Teachers”.
Participants must write in their own hand, and submit a piece no shorter than half a page. The word ‘teacher’ must be used in the poem as well. The public may submit their written works from now until 31st October 2014, either directly or through the post to the Secretariat Office of the Teachers’ Council of Thailand 128/1 Nakhon-Ratchasima Road, Dusit Sub-District, Dusit District, Bangkok 10300 or by accessing the website www.ksp.or.th where there is more information.
The winners of the contests, and the runners up, along with five additional awards will be receive prizes and certificates.
