BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department has issued a detailed weather update, forecasting a temperature drop of 1-3°C across upper Thailand due to a strong high-pressure system originating from China. The cold spell is accompanied by strong winds, significantly affecting the Northeast and North, where the weather will be cold to chilly. Other regions, including the central provinces, Bangkok and its vicinity, the East, and the upper South, will also experience cooler temperatures.

Northern Region:
Conditions: Cold to chilly weather with morning fog; significant temperature drops by 1-3°C.
Temperatures: Lows of 12-20°C, highs of 27-32°C.
Mountain Tops: Very cold to freezing conditions with lows of 4-12°C.
Winds: Easterly, 10-20 km/h.

Northeastern Region:
Conditions: Cold with strong winds; temperatures falling by 1-3°C.

Conditions: Scattered thunderstorms (30% coverage), mostly in Ranong, Phang Nga, Krabi, and Trang.

Winds: Northeasterly, 15-35 km/h.
Seas: Waves around 1 meter, offshore waves reaching 1-2 meters; over 2 meters in stormy areas.

Bangkok and Vicinity:
Conditions: Cool mornings with strong winds; temperatures dropping by 1-2°C.
Temperatures: Lows of 19-22°C, highs of 29-32°C.
Winds: Northeasterly, 10-25 km/h.

Flash Floods and Runoff: Residents in the South, especially in low-lying areas and near waterways, are advised to remain alert to heavy rainfall that could lead to sudden flooding or runoff.
