BANGKOK, 2 July 2014 – A temporary constitution has been drafted and is undergoing a legal review by the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), says the head of the drafting team.
, According to Wisanu Krue-ngam, the head of the NCPO’s charter drafting team, there are 45 sections in the temporary charter. There are also a number of ‘reserve’ sections provided as alternatives. However, the temporary charter will not have more than 50 sections, in any case.
If the NCPO assembly does not order adjustments to be made, the NCPO chief would send the charter for royal endorsement within this month, Mr. Wisanu said.
He added that under the temporary charter, the national legislative council will consist of 200 members, whereas the national reform council will consist of 250.
