Thai Airways (THAI) International has rerouted its Europe-bound flights to circumvent the Middle East airspace following recent attacks in the region. The airline’s president, Chai Eamsiri, stated on Sunday (Apr 14) that adjustments had been made to flight paths, avoiding Iranian airspace, to ensure passenger safety without disrupting scheduled services.
Despite the geopolitical tensions, THAI Chief Commercial Officer Korakot Chatasingha said that passengers have not canceled their bookings through the Middle East, and the airline is vigilantly monitoring developments to adapt as necessary.
Alongside operational changes, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a travel advisory urging Thai nationals to avoid traveling to Iran and Israel. Currently, approximately 28,000 Thais live in Israel, and 300 live in Iran. The Thai embassies in Tel Aviv and Tehran are actively communicating with the Thai communities to assess and assist with any needs arising from the conflict. (NNT)
