BANGKOK, Thailand –Thai baht opened on January 14 at 34.69 baht per U.S. dollar, strengthening from the previous closing rate of 34.80 baht per dollar. The baht is expected to move within a range of 34.60-34.85 baht per dollar over the next 24 hours, with potential volatility due to the release of U.S. economic data.
Since last night, the baht has gradually strengthened in a sideways down pattern, fluctuating between 34.66 and 34.82 baht per dollar. This movement has been supported by a slight weakening of the U.S. dollar as market participants took profits on long dollar positions.
Additionally, major currencies such as the euro (EUR) and the British pound (GBP) have rebounded after significant declines in recent weeks, further contributing to the baht’s strengthening. Market players are closely watching U.S. inflation reports for indications on the Federal Reserve’s future monetary policy.
