BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai baht closed at 33.50 baht per US dollar, close to the morning’s opening rate of 33.52, October 23.
Throughout the day, the currency fluctuated within a narrow range of 33.46-33.56 baht/dollar. With no new factors influencing the baht’s movement, and no major U.S. economic data expected tonight, market focus shifts to statements from Federal Reserve officials, global gold prices, and the U.S. presidential race.
A Krungsri Bank currency manager anticipates Thursday’s baht range between 33.35-33.60 per dollar.
Nevertheless, it is reported that Thai baht is weakening further after the local market closing. As of 9 PM, the baht is trading within 33.70-33.80 baht per US dollar.
