BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai Cabinet has approved a budget of 274.89 billion baht for the National Health Security System for the fiscal year 2025.
Deputy Government Spokesperson Sasikarn Watanachan announced that the Cabinet has approved the budget framework as proposed by the National Health Security Board. The allocation includes 272.58 billion baht for the National Health Security Fund and 2.3 billion baht for administrative expenses of the National Health Security Office (NHSO).
The approved fund marks an increase of 36.19 billion baht from the previous year’s allocation of 236.39 billion baht. The NHSO’s administrative budget has also increased by 741.95 million baht from 1.56 billion baht in 2024.
The Quality Control and Standardization Committee for Public Health Services has reviewed and endorsed the budget proposal, with final approval from key government agencies, including the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Public Health, the Council of State, the National Economic and Social Development Council, and the Health Systems Research Institute.
