BANGKOK, May 9 – Thailand’s Civil Court approved the listing of three persons on the Justice Ministry’s terrorist blacklist, according to the secretary-general of the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO).
AMLO chief Seehanart Prayoonrat identified the three men as Amran Ming, Arhama Kaje and Abdullah Maming.
Police investigation found them involved with terrorism and arrest warrants were issued for them in the attack on a military base in Narathiwat, killing four soldiers on January 19, 2011.
Agencies, banks and individuals are not permitted to conduct financial transactions with them, Mr Seehanart said. Violators will face penalties including imprisonment and fines.
The AMLO secretary-general said the investigation continues to find more suspects in connection with terrorism and providing support for terrorism.
It is believed that the action will not worsen the situation in the deep south, he said, adding that the move would be positive for the review of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) that Thailand has made a headway in anti-terrorism activities.
