Thai Culture Ministry announces short film competition winners

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Ministry of Culture has announced the winners of the 4th Annual Short Film Competition, Family of Love, which celebrates family values through creative storytelling. Organized by the Cultural Surveillance Bureau, the competition received over 800 entries from across Thailand, with participants submitting short films that depict love, support, and cultural traditions within families.



The grand prize was awarded to “Angel of Mine” from Phen Pittayakhom School in Udon Thani province. The film highlights perseverance, discipline, and the role of family encouragement in personal growth. Ten honorable mentions were also recognized, including “Pure Love” and the “Bond of Pha Khao Ma” from Nong Khai, “Almost Full” from Loei, and “The Silence of Love: Love Is Not Silent” from Bangkok. These films explore different aspects of family relationships, from unconditional love to overcoming challenges together.

Minister of Culture Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol commended the competition for promoting safe and meaningful media production. She stressed the role of storytelling in shaping values and strengthening family connections. The competition supports efforts to encourage creative expression while preserving Thai cultural identity and ethical principles.


An awards ceremony will be held on February 26, 2025, during the opening of the Moral Family Camp for the Central, Eastern, and Southern regions at S Ratchada Leisure Hotel in Bangkok. Winners will receive trophies, certificates, and cash prizes in recognition of their contributions to family-centered storytelling.

The award-winning films will be available to the public through the Culture Surveillance Bureau’s YouTube channel, giving a wider audience access to stories that promote love, unity, and moral values. (NNT)
