BANGKOK, Thailand – A Thai delegation led by Chayika Wongnapachant, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has attended NVIDIA GTC 2025 in California to advance Thailand’s AI and semiconductor industry. Representing Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa, the delegation engaged with industry leaders and investors to expand business networks and attract foreign investment in AI-driven technologies.

During the conference, the delegation attended NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang’s keynote speech, which introduced next-generation AI chips and advancements. NVIDIA has already collaborated with Thai businesses to enhance AI infrastructure and partnered with CMKL University to establish the Institute of Artificial Intelligence Engineering. The initiative supports Thailand’s development of Sovereign AI, strengthening its technological capabilities and reducing dependence on foreign systems.

At the Thai Tech Connect – Business Networking Dinner, Chayika outlined Thailand’s AI and semiconductor strategy, including the “Go Cloud First” policy, a centralized cloud service, and investment incentives for chip manufacturing and data centers. The Board of Investment (BOI) and the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) offer corporate tax exemptions of up to 13 years to attract high-tech investors.

Developing a skilled workforce remains a priority for the Thai government, with plans to train 80,000 STEM professionals by 2028 and 50,000 AI specialists by 2029. These efforts build on Thailand’s success in attracting global tech firms such as AWS, Google, Microsoft, Huawei, and TikTok to establish data centers. The delegation also met with Silicon Valley startups and venture capitalists to explore business expansion and investment opportunities in AI and emerging technologies. (NNT)
