Thai Embassy joins ‘14th Cyber Secretariat Workshop under the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation’

During the 4th Steering Committee of the FEALAC Trust Fund, the participants discussed the proposal to allow donor countries to utilize the FEALAC Multi-Donor Trust Fund for FEALAC-wide projects.

SEOUL – Minister of the Royal Thai Embassy in Seoul, Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, led the Thai delegation, 29–30 August, to participate in the 14th Cyber Secretariat Workshop under the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation (FEALAC) and related meetings in the Republic of Korea on the theme “Shaping the Future of FEALAC Cooperation in the Digital Era: A Vision for the Next 25 Years.” This workshop aimed to share their perspectives on promoting and advancing cooperation between East Asia and Latin America, particularly in the area of digital transformation.

During the workshop, Mr. Bancha highlighted Thailand’s contributions to FEALAC projects over the years and also participated in the FEALAC Interim Coordination Meeting, where participants agreed to expedite the selection of new regional coordinators following the guidelines set out in the Concept Note and the Terms of Reference for the voluntary alphabetical system for the selection of FEALAC Regional Coordinators.

In addition, during the 4th Steering Committee of the FEALAC Trust Fund, the participants discussed the proposal to allow donor countries to utilize the FEALAC Multi-Donor Trust Fund for FEALAC-wide projects. Thailand supported this proposal as a means to encourage more member countries to contribute to the Trust Fund and to stimulate further project implementation under FEALAC. (MFA)
