SURIN, June 2015 – Entrepreneurs from the northeastern provinces of Thailand are set to establish a cooperation in agricultural products and business matching, at a meeting in Cambodia later this month.
The Vice Governor of Surin Winai Torgchitpitak today chaired the preparatory meeting for Thai entrepreneurs prior to attending the meeting that will establish Contract Farming deals and Business Matching negotiations with Cambodia.
The Thailand – Cambodia meeting, this year entering the third year, will be held at Ankor Era Hotel in Siem Reap, Cambodia, on 14-16 June 2015. The meeting will be attended by delegates from 5 Cambodian provinces namely Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Kampong Thom, Stung Treng, and Siem Reap. These delegates are expected to sign agreements with the Thai entrepreneurs from the provinces of Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Chaiyaphum, Ubon Ratchathani, and Sisaket.
The establishment of contract farming and business matching deals are expected to yield concrete outcomes and promote confidence among both nations’ entrepreneurs.
Both countries will co-develop various products for benefits in agriculture, consumer products and tourism. Products and packages on the list include tapioca, soy, pepper, input factors for agricultural goods, vehicles and parts, and tourism packages.
During the preparatory meeting, the main obstacles in previous proceedings of this campaign have been identified as language barrier, a minimized entrepreneurial diversity, and the limited flexibility of border crossings.
