
SONGKHLA, Thailand – Health Minister Somsak Thepsuthin expressed his support for the nurse who was slapped by a patient’s relative in an emergency room after she prevented a child from entering the ICU. He stated that if the nurse chooses not to pursue the case, the Ministry of Public Health would step in to provide legal assistance to ensure such incidents do not set a precedent.
The Minister emphasized that the nurse’s actions were in the best interest of the patient, and the attack was unacceptable. He confirmed that the Ministry would provide a lawyer if necessary and encouraged the nurse to report the incident to the authorities. (TNA)
