Thai language building handover ceremony in Phnom Penh, Cambodia

The renovation of the Thai language building (Building B) is part of the enhancement of RUPP’s capacity in providing Thai language education. This involves improving classroom facilities as well as teaching materials and equipment to ensure RUPP is an institution for Thai language skills development that meets international standards.

H.E. Mr. Cherdkiat Atthakor, Ambassador of Thailand to Cambodia, participated in the Handover Ceremony of the renovated building under the Development of Thai Language Teaching and Learning project at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), where Mr. Wattanawit Gajaseni, Deputy Director-General, Acting Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), handed over the renovated building to Mr. Chet Chealy, Rector of RUPP.



The renovation of the Thai language building (Building B) is part of the enhancement of RUPP’s capacity in providing Thai language education. This involves improving classroom facilities as well as teaching materials and equipment to ensure RUPP is an institution for Thai language skills development that meets international standards.



Since 2015, the Royal Thai Government has been supporting the Development of Thai Language Teaching and Learning project by deploying experts and volunteers to assist the teaching of Thai language at the Foreign Language Institute of RUPP. To date, the University has successfully implemented short-term courses and Bachelor’s degree program. It is currently developing a Master’s degree curriculum. (MFA)
