BANGKOK, Thailand – The government has launched the “Thai Massage College” under the Ministry of Public Health to professionalize and raise the international standards of Thai massage therapy. Operating as a division within the ministry, the college is part of an effort to promote Thailand as a leading Medical and Wellness Hub in the region.

The college will act as a central institution for training Thai massage therapists in specialized treatments for seven medical conditions, including myofascial pain syndrome, frozen shoulder, piriformis syndrome, and nerve-related disorders. Graduates will receive advanced certification, improving their credentials and expanding career opportunities locally and internationally.

Training will be conducted through 18 specialized centers for Thai traditional medicine and 38 universities that offer degrees in Thai Traditional and Integrative Medicine. Building on the existing 150-hour Thai Health Massage program, the college will offer advanced courses to more than 20,000 assistant Thai traditional medical practitioners and 1,000 certified provincial-level massage instructors.

The Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine will oversee academic development, service quality, and standards. The college will also promote international academic exchange and collaboration to strengthen the global presence of Thai massage therapy.

Graduates are expected to benefit from increased earning potential while enhancing the credibility of Thai massage services worldwide. Registration is available via the college’s official Facebook page. (NNT)
