BANGKOK, ThailandThe Thai Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast for the next 24 hours, warning of heavy to very heavy rain in some areas of the northern region. The

Northeastern and Eastern regions will also experience heavy rainfall in certain locations. Residents in these areas are urged to exercise caution due to the risk of flash floods and runoff, especially in low-lying areas and near mountainous water channels.

The forecast attributes the weather conditions to a strong low-pressure system covering northern Myanmar, combined with a moderate southwest monsoon over the upper Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the upper Gulf of Thailand.

Additionally, moderate winds are expected in the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand, with waves reaching about 2 meters in height. In stormy areas, waves may exceed 2 meters. For the lower Andaman Sea and lower Gulf of Thailand, waves will range from 1-2 meters, with higher waves in thunderstorms. Mariners are advised to navigate cautiously and avoid sailing in stormy areas.

Bangkok and its surrounding areas will experience thunderstorms covering 40% of the area, with temperatures ranging from 27-28°C at night to highs of 33-35°C during the day. (TNA)
