“Angel in White!” – A brave nurse refuses to leave until every patient is safe, carrying newborns to safety during the devastating earthquake.

BANGKOK, Thailand – A young nurse from Pathum Thani Hospital has shared a powerful image of herself evacuating newborns from a hospital building during the recent 8.2-magnitude earthquake. In a heartfelt message, she vowed, “If there are still patients inside, I will not leave the building.”

The earthquake struck at 1:20 PM, with its epicenter in Mandalay, Myanmar, at a depth of 10 kilometers. The tremors were felt across several parts of Thailand, causing buildings to collapse and resulting in numerous casualties and missing persons. Hospitals were also severely affected by the quake.



On March 29, a Facebook user named Jiratchaya Butbuntom, a nurse at Pathum Thani Hospital, posted an emotional image of her evacuating newborns to a safe area. She wrote, “Medical personnel never abandon their patients. Whose babies are these? I carried two down myself. Come find them. I swear, if there are still patients inside, I will not leave the building. Today, I kept my promise. The last patient has been safely evacuated, including bedridden patients and newborns, but they are all safe.”


Her post has been shared over 39,000 times, with thousands of netizens praising her dedication. Comments included, “Doctors and nurses truly give their all, even in the worst disasters.” Another added, “Next time you’re waiting in line at a hospital, please be patient. These heroes do everything they can, even in life-threatening situations.”

Medical personnel like Jiratchaya Butbuntom have been hailed as “angels in white”, showing extraordinary bravery and dedication to their patients during this crisis.
