BANGKOK, 14 July 2015 – Thai Police Spokesman Pol Lt-Gen Prawut Thawornsiri has revealed the preparations to ensure safety and smooth traffic during the “Bike for Mom” Mother’s Day Ride on Sunday 16 August are nearly completed, and a rehearsal in Bangkok is scheduled two weeks ahead the event.
The preparations include adjustment of road surface along the routes used in the cycling, installation of lights and closed-circuit cameras as well as security and first aid plans.
Pol Lt-Gen Prawut added that the rally’s organizer will provide maps and video clips to inform general motorists of the roads to be closed on the day and the timetable of the event so that they can prepare alternative routes for their journey.
The 2 August rehearsal will include traffic closures to be applied on the day of the rally on August 16. Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, both main and frontage roads, will be closed during the event to handle the great number of bikers. Normal road users are suggested to use Don Muang tollway which will be open free of charge during the event.
