The cyber police will seek arrest warrants for online scammers in the case linked to the suicide of a -15-year-old boy.
The boy committed suicide by hanging himself near his house in Nonthaburi after being scammed by the cybercriminal who had deceived him to transfer the money worth 15,000 baht in total as an investment to earn a profit by purchasing goods for resale.
He withdrew money from his patents’ accounts and transferred to the accounts as demanded by the scammer.
When he realized that he was duped by fraudsters, he left the suicide note for his parents to say sorry and tell his parents to find out what had happened to him in his mobile phone.
Pol Maj Gen Wiwat Khamchamnan, deputy commissioner of the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau said that the boy’s parents filed a complaint to the police. The police would examine his mobile phone to search for evidence and were investigating mule accounts.
They will seek arrest warrants for perpetrators when they have sufficient evidence, he said. (TNA)
