BANGKOK, Thailand – The Rice Networking Forum 2024 successfully concluded on 19 September. With participation by business partners, along with rice importers, exporters, and experts from around the world, the forum served as a stage for exchanging knowledge, learning about global trends, and expanding markets to drive the rice industry and ensure global food security. Business networking sessions also brought together Thai exporters and foreign importers, which was a great opportunity for both sides.



This event, Thailand’s first-ever international rice forum, came with the concept “Local Rice… Global Food.” The forum reiterated the country’s ambition to be the world’s leader for rice producers and exporters, creating greater confidence among alliances and partners around the globe regarding Thailand’s policies on rice product development and the promotion of Thai premium rice as global food.

According to the records of the Department of Foreign Trade, in the first seven months of 2024 (January-July), Thailand exported approximately 5.69 million tons, worth approximately US$3,703 million. Thailand is expected to export 8.20 million tons in 2024. (PRD)
