BANGKOK, Thailand – The 13th “Thai Silk Festival, Thai Silk to the World Stage” is set to take place on August 31 at the Royal Thai Navy Auditorium in Bangkok. Organized by the Ministry of Culture in partnership with the Association of Thai Silk & Culture Promotions and various other agencies, the event promotes Thai silk as a cultural connection between Thailand and the global community.

The festival is being held in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, to celebrate her birthday anniversary on August 12, 2024. A festival highlight will be a Thai silk fashion show featuring participation from Cabinet members, government representatives, ambassadors, and government officials.

In addition to the fashion show, the festival will showcase an exhibition dedicated to Queen Sirikit and a cultural tourism exhibition representing 39 provinces across Thailand. Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase Cultural Products of Thailand (CPOT), including silk fabrics, and enjoy a variety of cultural performances. These performances will blend traditional Thai dance with elements of jazz, modern ballet, and artistic fiber displays inspired by both local and global traditions.

The event offers visitors a unique chance to immerse themselves in the richness of Thai culture and craftsmanship, ensuring a memorable experience for all who attend. (NNT)
