Defense Minister Sutin Klungsang, on Thai Veterans Day (Feb 3), joined a group of high-ranking government and military leaders in honoring the nation’s war veterans for their indispensable role in defending the country’s sovereignty and peace.

Privy Council President Gen Surayud Chulanont, representing His Majesty the King, presided over the ceremony, which included a solemn wreath-laying tribute to the veterans. The event, attended by representatives from state agencies, the private sector, various organizations, and foreign military attaches, also saw the participation of over a thousand veterans.



During a ceremony held at Bangkok’s Victory Monument, Sutin affirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing support for veterans and their families, ensuring they live with honor and dignity. This will help boost the morale of military personnel currently serving in hazardous areas and provide veterans with stable employment opportunities for a better quality of life.
