NAKHON PHANOM, Thailand – A new cultural attraction blending Thai and Vietnamese heritage has officially opened in Nakhon Phanom province, offering visitors a lively weekend destination filled with food, music, and traditional crafts. The Thai–Vietnamese Food Street Market, launched on March 22, will now take place every Saturday morning along the Thai–Vietnamese Cultural Street in front of the Vietnam Town Archway.
Presided over by Nakhon Phanom Governor Pratya Unphetwarakon, the event was attended by Vietnamese and Thai–Vietnamese community leaders, local officials, and residents. The market celebrates long-standing cultural ties between Thailand and Vietnam, drawing crowds with its wide array of traditional dishes, handmade goods, and live performances. Vietnamese Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh was also present at the launch.
Visitors can sample various authentic cuisines, including grilled pork rolls, steaming bowls of pho, Lao chicken noodle soup, and spicy Thai street food. Alongside the culinary offerings are community-run souvenir stalls, traditional games, and cultural performances, representing the heritage and shared spirit of both nations.
Organized in collaboration with the Thai–Vietnamese Association of Nakhon Phanom, the market contributes to the city’s growing profile as a cultural tourism destination, directly connecting local vendors, artisans, and producers with visitors and shoppers. (NNT)
